April Ricketts Elgin is wife of Kevin Elgin of Jackson, Tennessee and daughter of Mike and Lisa Ricketts of Lexington, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee. While at Lambuth, April participated in the University’s mock trial team. April then obtained her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law. While attending Nashville School of Law, April worked full time as a social worker in Jackson, Tennessee. In addition to her employment, April also interned with the Public Defenders Office in Jackson, Tennessee.
April enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as being involved in her community. April is a member of the Jackson Cotillion Club, which supports the Boys and Girls Club in Jackson, Tennessee. April participates in various community events and serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club.
April is licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Jackson-Madison County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She too is a member of the Tennessee Association for Justice, Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
